Belvidere Park District Special Recreation and Northlands Association for Special Recreation (NASR) is a cooperative partnership between the Belvidere, Freeport, and Rockford Park Districts (referred to as a member district).

Riverside Ice Arena
The Riverside Ice Arena opened in 2015 and is home to our Ice Rink and AJ Johnson Warming House. We offer public skate, open hockey, several Ice Hockey Tournaments each season, and hockey and ice skating lessons for all ages. The Warming House rents skates and skating aids. The Riverside Ice Arena is located within Doty Park and sits along the Kishwaukee River in Downtown Belvidere.
Rivers Edge Rec Center
Historic Baltic Mill
Located in Belvidere Park off of Lincoln Avenue, the Baltic Mill has been renovated to provide historical artifacts, a meeting room, a public restroom and house the Boone County Arts Council office. Adjacent to the Baltic Mill is a stage area where “Concerts in the Park” are provided for the community. Local businesses and organizations may reserve the Baltic Mill for meetings. Sundstrand South Shelter
Located on the south side of Sundstrand Park, this spacious shelter offers a welcoming outdoor retreat. With a volleyball court for friendly competition and convenient restroom access, it’s the perfect spot for gatherings, picnics, and recreational fun.

Nestled in the heart of Belvidere Park, just off South Appleton Road, this secluded shelter offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature. It’s the perfect spot for gatherings.
