Belvidere Park District Special Recreation and Northlands Association for Special Recreation (NASR) is a cooperative partnership between the Belvidere, Freeport, and Rockford Park Districts (referred to as a member district).

Riverside Ice Arena
The Riverside Ice Arena opened in 2015 and is home to our Ice Rink and AJ Johnson Warming House. We offer public skate, open hockey, several Ice Hockey Tournaments each season, and hockey and ice skating lessons for all ages. Ozzie’s Skate Shop located inside of the Warming House rents skates, skate aids, sharpens skates, as well as sells hot drinks and other merchandise. The Riverside Ice Arena is located within Doty Park and sits along the Kishwaukee River in Downtown Belvidere.
Rivers Edge Rec Center
Historic Baltic Mill
Located in Belvidere Park off of Lincoln Avenue, the Baltic Mill has been renovated to provide historical artifacts, a meeting room, a public restroom and house the Boone County Arts Council office. Adjacent to the Baltic Mill is a stage area where “Concerts in the Park” are provided for the community. Local businesses and organizations may reserve the Baltic Mill for meetings. Baltic Mill Stage and seating areas are available for rentals May thru October. For information, please call 815-547-5711
Sundstrand – South Shelter
Our newest Park, with an expansive 15.55 acres of recreational space. Includes three park shelters and pavilions that hold from 100 to 250 individuals. All with volleyball courts. and bathrooms. Full Day rentals only. $150/day (9am-9pm)
South Shelter accommodates 140.
All shelters are subject to a $50.00 additional cleaning fee if the shelter is not kept clean or if the shelter is damaged. If you are having a bouncy house, you must rent from one of our authorized vendors and have your bouncy house rental agreement available day of. Please call for a list of authorized vendors.
Whispering Pines Shelter
Off of South Appleton Road in the center section of Belvidere Park. Shelter can accommodate up to 100 individuals. Half Day $20, Full Day $35.
All shelters are subject to a $50.00 additional cleaning fee if the shelter is not kept clean or if the shelter is damaged. If you are having a bouncy house, you must rent from one of our authorized vendors and have your bouncy house rental agreement available day of. Please call for a list of authorized vendors.
